Vikram Gupta received a B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering from IIT Delhi in 1993. A well-known figure in the Indian Venture Capital industry, Mr. Gupta is the Founder and Managing Partner of IvyCap Ventures, a USD 200mn Venture Capital Fund that invests through the Alumni ecosystems. He has around 25 years of experience in Private Equity, Business Consulting, M&A, Strategy and Operations in Healthcare and Life Sciences, Education, Consumer Goods and other industries.
Before founding IvyCap, Mr. Gupta was the founding member of a USD 100mn Healthcare focused Private Equity Fund that he conceptualized and raised in 2008 when the world markets were going through turmoil. Prior to that he worked with IBM Business Consulting Services for many years in strategy and planning, business development and project management across various assignments. He conceptualized and led IBM’s Healthcare and Life Sciences practice for Clinical Genomics.
Mr. Gupta is very active in the Indian start-up and Venture Capital ecosystem. He is the Co-Chairman of PEVCAI (Private Equity and Venture Capital) at ASSOCHAM and is an active member of IVCA (Indian Venture Capital Association) and CII (Confederation of Indian Industry).
Mr. Gupta was instrumental in conceptualising and setting up the IIT Delhi Global Alumni Endowment Fund. His passion for this Fund reflected in the Endowment Fund Song that he composed, sang, and video-recorded, featuring some of the most eminent Alumni of IIT Delhi.
